About The Daily Jot
Why The Daily Jot Exists
Journaling changed Richard's life — but not overnight. For years he knew he “should” journal, bought the notebooks, downloaded the apps, and never stuck with it longer than a week. The blank page was always the problem. Too much freedom, too little direction.
Then one morning he tried something different: a single, specific prompt. No pressure to write a certain amount, no grand system to follow — just one question to sit with. That was the day the habit finally stuck.
The Daily Jot was born from that experience. One thoughtful prompt, delivered every day, designed to meet you wherever you are. Some days it sparks a quick paragraph. Other days it opens a door you didn't know was there. Either way, you showed up — and that's what matters.
Meet the Creator
Richard R. Glover is the creator and writer behind The Daily Jot. He crafts every prompt with a single goal: to spark genuine reflection. Not the performative kind you post online, but the quiet kind that helps you understand yourself a little better.
He believes that self-awareness is a practice, not a destination — and that the right question at the right time can shift your entire day. The Daily Jot is his way of sharing that practice with anyone willing to pick up a pen (or open a notes app) and be honest for a few minutes.
How It Works
Every day, a new journaling prompt appears on the site. It's free to read — no account required.
If you want to go deeper, a premium membership unlocks the full archive of past prompts, lets you browse by category, and gives you access to daily email delivery so the prompt comes to you. It's a small investment in a habit that pays for itself many times over.
